Most families traditionally take their main holiday in the summer months, just when prices are at their highest. But if you want to save money without settling for second best (or taking the children out of school), take your main holiday at Whitsun half-term instead (from May 31 to June 4 for most schools this year). Not only will you find prices relatively lower, but airports are quieter, resorts are calmer and visitor attractions are emptier. In the Mediterranean, the weather is improving, and though it might not be quite warm enough to swim in the sea, hotel and villa pools (when open) will be fine. |
