The Museum in a Victorian Railway Station

MONKWEARMOUTH Station Museum on the North East Coast at Sunderland is housed in a striking Victorian railway station.  Visitors are able to travel back in time to find out how railway staff lived and worked at the start of the 20th Century

People can explore the railway sidings to discover the brake van and goods waggon.  They are able to stand in the Platform Gallery and watch their up-to-date counterparts zoom past on their modern journeys

The Children’s Galley has a wide range of books, toys and clothes for carrying out dressing up games and Monkwearmouth Station holds loads of free holiday activities that the whole family can enjoy.
