Bath looks its best bathed in spring sunshine. Visit soon to enjoy the city's International Music Festival, says Joanna Symons. Bath is the most perfectly preserved Georgian city in Britain, and its handsome terraces and crescents take on a honey-coloured glow in the spring sunshine. It also has one of the country's very best historical sites in the Roman Baths – alongside which is a striking new spa for 21st-century visitors wanting to bathe in the city's thermal waters. Book now for the International Music Festival (May 26–June 6; www.bathmusicfest.org.uk), which features offerings from the English National Ballet and Creole saxophonist David Murray and the Gwo-Ka Masters. |
