Veritable Cherbourg unveils Self-Defense Umbrella

Various defense umbrellas, seen in a James Bond movie have been revealed by Veritable Cherbourg, French umbrella manufacturer. These umbrellas are not an ordinary umbrella as they look like. These umbrellas are very useful; besides, protecting from rain and hail, these also protect its users from knives, stones, fire, and even acid attacks.

This umbrella is called as the Parapactum and was revealed at the Made in France show in Paris, last week. French President Nicolas Sarkozy has already adopted this umbrella for his personal security detail. A small company of France, Véritable Cherbourg (Real Cherbourg) produced these umbrellas. These stylish umbrellas are handmade and price of each item is in range between 100 and 350 euros ($150-500).

Companies, who are working in the protection industry and are top secret, developed the special materials that are used in the production of the umbrella. A dozen Parapactums have already been ordered at about 6,000 and 12,000 euros ($8,500-$17,000) by French authorities. Nearly all of the four million umbrellas bought every year in France are now produced in China.
