Photo by Adam Jackson under Creative Commons Attribution License The Wall Street Journal reports that Steve Jobs’s health has returned to the point that he is ready to resume his role as Apple’s CEO by the end of this month — and may appear at the WWDC keynote on Monday to debut the new iPhone model. The disorder that forced his leave, it appears, is related to fall-out from pancreas surgery, which is critical for breaking down and digesting protein: “He was one real sick guy,” added this person. “Fundamentally he was starving to death over a nine-month period. He couldn’t digest protein. [But] he took corrective action.” I, for one, will be thrilled to see Steve back. Tim Cook has done an amazing job in his absence, but Steve is the soul of Apple. And you can tell it pains him to be away. Here’s to his health, and to the continued success of the company. Because it’s about Apple, the article couldn’t just be about the man. An anonymous source with early access to the new iPhone (let’s presume Walt Mossberg) notes that the new phone will have “more processing power and some new features like video editing.” Even more to hope for.
