If reports from Liveside.net are to be believed, then it has been noticed that Microsoft is having the ownership of a new domain name kumo.com!
The reports are even pointing towards an internal Microsoft test site as well. Can it be seen as an option that Microsoft’s Live Search is going to have a new name?
In a post that was written by Mary Jo Foley, a firm discussion has been done on Microsoft’s plan of rebranding Live Search.
She says that: “I understand Microsoft’s desire to rebrand the Live Search because it has experienced so many transformations in the past years, which made it pretty confusing. I get confused most of the time while using its search engine. Although, it is accessible the moment you type in Live.com but the confusion comes in case of name recall and for writing purposes.”
So is Microsoft really considering Kumo as a new way of presenting Live Search product? But how will it ist the search engine? As far as the branding of the search engine is concerned, Microsoft is not facing any kind of problem as such. But it is certainly lagging behind in a lot of other aspects, as compared to big names like Google and Yahoo!
Will Kumo be able to establish the same thing? Let us wait and watch.
