TomTom iPhone Application Review

Tom Tom is one of the world’s top makers of GPS hardware and Software Company. TomTom navigation products are sold in over 30 countries. Tom Tom has launched new iPhone navigation application, this iPhone is available in Apple’s App Store on August 17. The app works only on iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS model and requires the iPhone 3.0 firmware. The iPhone app features landscape and portrait views, points of interest, 3D and 2D maps together with night and day views.

TomTom app for iPhone includes the exclusive IQ Routes technology, Instead of using travel time postulation. The TomTom app is huge weighing in at 1.25 GB. TomTom for the iPhone comes loaded with map for both the United States and Canada. The users can also purchase maps of Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. The iPhone users can expect to see multiple navigation programs in the App Store. TomTom app for iPhone is also available in 18 languages now.

The TomTom app isn’t as fast as most other apps, but is much faster than most of the other navigation apps and starts within only 7 seconds. The app works wonderfully for basic navigation and is simple to operate. The Car Kit will also have its own speaker to out-power. Facebook also released an upgrade to its App Store software that allows videos shot on the iPhone 3GS to be uploaded to the social-network site.

When you buy the TomTom app for iPhone, you also get the software and the Tele Atlas Maps. It has a night color mode and day color mode for visibility during different light conditions. TomTom will also be released a car kit later this year which enables users to attach their iPhone to the car's control panel. The car kit will also include a GPS antenna, voice-amplified speakers, and hands-free calling capabilities.
