Skoda Rapid Hatchback: Photos emerged

Skoda is all set to launch a five-door hatch version by next year and it is currently known as Skoda Rapid Hatchback. It is expected to rival against the Volkswagen Golf-rivalling five-door hatchback version. This car is technically a hatchback as it looks more like a saloon along with a traditional three-box shape. This new model will hit the European markets first. The car confirms to sport the saloon shape but the absence of the saloon shape will reduce the size of Rapid’s massive 550-litre boot. This upcoming model will be recognized as a hatch and it promises to be more stylish. The car will be made available in the mid-2013.

Skoda Rapid Hatchback is expected to have a 104bhp 1.6 TDI diesel and 1.2 TSI turbo petrol engines. The automaker has yet to decide whether to use ‘Rapid’ name for the all new five-door hatch version. The marketing head of the Skoda confirmed that the car will be shorter than the sedan and it will have styling inspired by the Vision D concept. It might be priced around £13,000 which is significantly cheaper than the Volkswagen Golf. As per the emerged photos, the car will be perfect for the young generation's families because of its lightweight and cheap cost.
