Cash for Refrigerators & Appliances Program
A news about latest program in stimulus is spreading last few days from the reporters in USA to UK, that the government will be offering a new Cash for Refrigerators and Appliances program. The Cash For Refrigerators (also known as cash for appliances) program is sequel to Popular and successful ‘Cash for Clunkers’ auto program, and this program ends today.
Cash for Refrigerators program will be offered by government as $50-$200 rebate in exchange for wasteful household appliances and if you choose to buy a new model. The federal government has set aside $300 million for the program as part of the economic stimulus plan.
The details of the program are still being worked out and The Association Of Home Appliance Manufacturers also has no update the details on its website. The Cash for Refrigerators and Appliances plan will be sponsor by the US Department of Energy.
The cash for appliances program will be start on this fall, but release date is not confirm yet. This program is part of the Obama's $787bn package to stimulate the US economy. The Energy Department will expect the bulk of the $300 million to be awarded by the end of November.
U.S. Energy Dept. Secretary Steven Chu said today in his statement that, these rebates will help families make the transition to more efficient appliances, making purchases that will directly stimulate the economy.
