Samsung has launched their latest dual-core mobile processor ‘Samsung Exynos 4212’ at the eighth annual Samsung Mobile Solutions Forum that held in Taipei. The company has announced this new chip after the success of 4210 chip. The new dual core chip is based on ARM Cortex A9 at 1.5 GHz. The Exynos 4212 will be designed with higher 3D graphics performance which offers a 50 percent higher graphic performance. Exynos 4212 is manufactured using 32nm High-k Metal Gate (HKMG) process technology that outcomes in a 30% gain in the power efficiency. This new chip comes with advanced codec accelerators which will support digital still images, 1080p video playback, and video recording. It also provides an image signal processor and an on-chip HDMI 1.4 interface. Exynos 4212 will definitely get success due to the Samsung’s throttlehold in Smartphone and tablets market and strong bond with Android. The company will provide test samples to the manufacturer of Smartphones or tablets in Q4 of 2011. |
