New Skoda Rapid’s initial details and official images have been unveiled by Skoda Company. This compact sedan will be unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September, and then it will go on sale in Europe in late 2012 and in Australia in 2013. New Rapid compact sedan will take place in the Skoda range between the Fabia city car and mid-sized Octavia. New Skoda Rapid is a four door, five seater compact sedan. It will come with clever solutions, cutting-edge technology, a comprehensive safety offering, efficient engines and high economy to impress users. New Skoda Rapid will be featured with a tailgate that elevates together with the back window disclosing a boot with 500 liters of space. Complete details about this car are not available yet, but as per the Skoda, the Rapid will be available in Europe with five petrol and two diesel engines. The Skoda Rapid is a spacious, comfortable, stylish, environmentally friendly and an affordable car for the entire family. It will also contain a cheaper torsion beam suspension. Its length is 4.48 meters and width is 1.7 meters means it is longer in comparison to a Golf hatch but shorter from the 4.57m Octavia. As per the Czech automaker, the car is the first production model from Skoda that will be fully featured with the newly formulated design language of brand. Rapid will adopt a cheaper construction that will be built on a different platform to the ‘MQB’ modular architecture. The Rapid will raise the range to eight vehicles, joining the Octavia, Roomster MPV, Fabia city car, superb large car and Yeti compact SUV. The Rapid seems alike to the MissionL concept with the exception of the door handles, front lamps and roof panel. The 2013 Skoda Rapid will offer an attractive overall appearance with combination of perfect proportions, clear and cleanly modelled surfaces and sharply drawn lines. The new brand logo certainly is shown on the harmonically rounded front edge of the bonnet. The grille is created by vertical slats and displays a finely drawn chrome frame. The headlight assembly is grouped at the front of the Skoda Rapid to make a cloverleaf shape. This car has a precise and sharp tornado line that creates a clear division of light and shadow. Skoda Rapid looks unique with the combination of distinctly shaped taillights in the brand’s typical C shape and the new brand logo. Image source: www.caradvice.com.au |
