BMW R 1200 R and BMW R 1200 R Classic – the new dynamic roadsters from BMW Motorrad. Both are the modified models of successor R 1200 R. Boasting a new 1170 cc boxer engine, the two bikes are derived from the BMW HP2 Sport. Whereas the basic version of the BMW R 1200 R comes with a sportier character with new cast light alloy wheels, the R 1200 R Classic presents wire spoke wheels. The dissimilarity between these two bikes is paintwork color & equipment. R 1200 R Classic is finished in a metallic sapphire black paintwork stripe in plain alpine white extending over the tank and front wheel cover. On the other hand, the essential version of the R 1200 R is available in three color option, mat metallic smoky grey, metallic light grey, or metallic red apple. Both the R 1200 R and the R 1200 R Classic can be fitted optionally with electronic suspension adjustment ESA. Safety wise, both roadsters can be factory-fitted with the optional BMW Motorrad integral ABS (in the partially integral version) and automatic stability control ASC. In its role as a traditional system provider, BMW Motorrad has also developed for the new R 1200 R and R 1200 R Classic extensive ranges of optional equipment and tailored optional accessories for further individualization.
