Over the last few months, rumors about that Samsung is planning to launch a new Android smartphone named Samsung Jasper for Verizon Wireless have been buzzing around the net. An image of the Samsung Jasper was leaked on twitter, since then specifications about the device have been made. Although there are no official details about the launch date of the Samsung Jasper, but it is anticipated to be announced very soon. It is expected that the handset will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The device is considered as a mid range smartphone that will have powerful features. Samsung Jasper will sport WVGA touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels. The phone will have LTE connectivity and it is expected to be powered by high-end dual-core S4 Snapdragon MSM8960 processor. The same processor is being used in Verizon’s HTC DROID and Samsung Galaxy S3. There is no information regarding the dimension of the phone. As per the rumor, there is no LED flash on the smartphone. The exact details on the pixels are not yet revealed, but the device has a front facing camera for video calling and a photo snapper at the back. With the 4G LTE connectivity the handset will run on Verizon's rapid cellular network for a fast internet access. The device has four capacitive buttons below the screen; the fourth one is expected to be the ‘Menu’ key button. This feature will replace the standard Search button that is often seen in the Android smartphones. If so, Samsung Jasper would be the first device to showcase such a key. |
