Sony Xperia P, U and Sola officially launched in India

The availability of three new NXT series smart-phones in India from Sony Mobiles such as Xperia P, U, and the Xperia Sola, has been officially announced by Sony Mobile Communications. These smartphones were initially revealed at the Xperia S launch in the month of April. Sony Mobile has teamed up with Tata DOCOMO to provide free 3GB data for three months for 3G users. Sony Xperia Sola and Xperia U are already available for sale, whereas Xperia P is anticipated to be available in the market on 26th May 2012. As per the company, price of Xperia U, P and Sola are Rs. 17,399, Rs 25,799 and Rs 20,449 respectively.

The NXT series smart-phones from Sony Mobiles runs on Google's Android 2.3 operating system and it is expected that they will upgrade to Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich. Sony's Xperia P is featured with a 4-inch scratch-resistant TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 16 GB internal memory, 8 megapixel camera with auto focus, 8x digital zoom and LED flash. This handset is powered by a 1 GHz U8500 dual-core processor. It also contains internal phone storage of 16GB and 1 GB RAM.

Sony's Xperia U includes a 3.5 inch scratch-resistant TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus, 16x digital zoom and LED flash. It is powered by a 1 GHz STE U8500 dual-core processor and contains 8 GB internal memory. The Xperia Sola is featured with a 3.7 inch scratch-resistant TFT touchscreen, 8 GB internal storage, microSD memory card slot and a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash. This handset runs on a 1 GHz dual-core processor.
