Sony Xperia Ion smartphone has been recently launched by Company in India at a price of Rs 36,999. This smartphone was revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012 in Las Vegas. Sony Xperia Ion is already available for the US consumers from the last 2 months. This is the company’s first dual-core smartphone and available in two colors such as black and red. This android smartphone comes with a 4.6" HD Reality scratch-resistant TFT touch-screen with Sony's MOBILE BRAVIA Engine and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels that supports HD video.
Sony Xperia Ion runs on Andorid 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System. This handset is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor coupled with Adreno 220 GPU, on the MSM8260 Snapdragon chipset. This device contains 12MP front facing camera 16x digital zoom, auto-focus, Face detection and LED Flash that can record full HD videos at 1080p@30fps, and the 1.3 megapixel VGA front facing camera for supporting video calls and much more. This handset has 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB with the use of microSD card.
Sony Xperia Ion also includes connectivity options such as HSPA, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB 2.0, 3G and 2G. This smartphone features a 1750 mAh battery that deliver up to 6 hrs 45 min of talk-time, and up to 850 hrs of stand-by time. This device has a 3.5 mm audio jack, FM radio with RDS, GPS with aGPS, Bluetooth technology, HDMI support, DLNA Certified, Micro USB, NFC (Near Field Communication), USB 2.0, Google Play Store, Wi-Fi Hotspot functionality.
