Research In Motion, the maker of Blackberry, launched a great app called ‘Blackberry Screen Reader’ on 7th May, 2012. The app is designed especially for visually impaired people so that they can also use and operate Blackberry phones without any difficulty just as normal users do. The Screen Reader app helps blind or visually impaired Blackberry users by providing an audible output based on the visual information displayed on the screen of Blackberry. Moreover, RIM has launched this app for free. It is available for three Blackberry models and they are BlackBerry Curve 9350, 9360 and 9370. The Screen Reader app has an amazing set of features like the app supports all key applications offered in Blackberry such as phone calls, calendar, email, and lots more. Users can also customize the text-to-speech settings, which include volume, speech rate, pitch, punctuation and password security as per their requirement. Certain keyboard shortcuts are available with the help of which users can customize the settings quickly and easily. Plus, it provides customizable fonts for greater clarity. To know about the app completely, users can take help of the user guide that is available in HTML via a desktop web browser. The app is available in five main languages: English, Italian, French, Spanish, and German. If you want to download the Screen Reader app to the Blackberry phone from your PC then ensure that you are using the Internet Explorer browser. No other web browsers support the downloading site.
