Play Store gift card gets release date

Generally a person who is a smartphone lover is an app lover as well. Various types of apps are being launched and downloaded almost every day. A person having a credit or debit card can purchase apps directly. But those who do not own a credit or debit card or are not old enough to have one, can buy their apps through iTunes gift cards or have them gifted to their account by someone else. However, Google is also in news these days as it is expected that Google’s own gift cards will be introduced very soon. These gift cards will be redeemable for apps, books and any other digital stuff available at the Google Play Store.

Recently an image leaked over the internet suggests that the Google Play gift cards will be released on August 26, this year. This image has been entitled as ‘Google Play Cards Unavailable Until 8/26’ and summarizes the issue as well as the relevant action to combat that issue. These Google Play gift cards have been assigned an internal part number of 276-04-0013. The card displays are expected to have a couple of empty slots until they reach the stores. The cards will be available for purchase in their own stores along with other vendors as well.

These cards were so eagerly awaited by the Android lovers that some stores are already displaying them for purchase. In fact these cards are already being sold. A Google Play Gift Card has been bought at a local Turnersville, NJ Target store by an employee who told that the cards are just hanging out in bins waiting to be put up for sale. So anyone at the store can take the cards from the pile and purchase them. The employees have been notified to avoid bringing out Google play cards from the backroom and replace the empty display slots with other gift cards until the Google gift cards launch officially. So, it is clear that a full-scale launch is not far away. Also, the latest Play Store APK features have options to create wishlists and redeem gift cards. In fact, the ‘redeem’ page has also been added. But, right now the page displays an error.

Whenever the cards are launched, they will definitely be a success as the market is focused on smartphones and nearly all the android devices have the pre installed Google play app. So, there is hardly any reason to go somewhere else for purchasing the desired apps, books or music when Google Play is available on your device. Already Apple and Amazon are offering gift cards to the customers so why Google cannot do it? This step will definitely raise the sales in the Google Play Store. August 26th hasn’t been officially announced so probability is there the date may change leading to the leaks and rumors. So, now you will be able to give great gifts to your friends and relatives.
