LG, one of the most trusted brands in India is going to launch twelve new smartphones in Indian market this year. This news is confirmed by Sanjay Maheshwary in an interview with The Mobile Indian. All these smartphones will be based on Android operating system. The company will launch these low, mid and top end categories smartphones from May to make their smartphone portfolio stronger. The prices of the smartphones will range from Rs 7,000 to Rs 35,000. The first LG smartphone to launch in India is Optimus 4X HD, which features Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS and 1.5GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 Processor. The company will also release LG Optimus VU, three L-series smartphones (Optimus L3, Optimus L5 and Optimus L7) and LG Optimus 3D Max. The L-series smartphones will be available in 2 colors: white and black. LG Optimus 3D Max sports dual-core 1.2GHz TI OMAP processor and Android 2.3 OS whereas LG Optimus VU is equipped with 1.5Ghz dual-core Qualcomm processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Optimus L3 comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and 800MHz processor; Optimus L5 is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and 800MHz processor while LG Optimus L7 includes Android 4.0 OS and 1GHZ processor. LG has released only 6 Smartphones from 12 Smartphones. The company expects that the smartphones sales will reach 18 to 20 million units this year and eighty percent demand will be for devices in Rs 10,000 category. |
