MTS MTag 401 Android Phone launched at price of INR 8,999

The race for cheapest smartphones in Indian Market is heating up day by day. The competition for low cost Android smartphones is becoming tougher as people in India are more likely to purchase cheap digital products. Currently, the competition of the Android Smartphone under Rs 10,000 has been conquered by major players such as LG, HTC and Samsung. MTS has also joined this competition with the launch of MTag 401 with a price tag of Rs. 8,999. The company unveiled this powerpacked Android Smartphone on 12th June. It is the forth Android Smartphone of the company.

MTag 401 features 4" capacitive WVGA touch-display with 233 PPI resolution. It is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread and 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 Processor. It has 256MB RAM and 170MB built in storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB through MicroSD card. It comes preloaded with various applications such as Facebook, Saavn (Internet Radio application), Gtalk, MTS TV (100 plus channels), Gmail, You Tube and much more. Users are able to download apps from Google Play market.

It sports 3 megapixels rear camera and 1700mAh battery, which provides 260mins of Talk Time and 200H of Standby Time. Connectivity features of the device are Mobile Hot Spot, CDMA EVDO Rev A (DL Upto 3.1 Mbps), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and A-GPS. This affordable Smartphone is available with unlimited data plan (1GB/month for 3 months) and local MTS to MTS calls (150 mins/day for 3 months) for prepaid and postpaid users. The company is also planning to launch a 7-inch Android Tablet (Android 2.2 Froyo) with free data usage.
