All are expecting some impressive announcements from Taiwanese giant, finally HTC starting off great with its upcoming mid-range phone HTC Primo for 2012. CES in Las Vegas has come and gone with no announcements from HTC, probably the upcoming Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona will be the place for more than one major announcement from HTC as it entered another device HTC Primo in possibly launched phone list of show, alongside HTC Ville and HTC Edge. This upcoming handset is pointed to be a budget-friendly smartphone with a price point of around $250-$300 off contract.

Specs of Super AMOLED dual-cor Smartphone

The upcoming phone, HTC Primo is powered with Ice Cream Sandwich installed out of the box and with HTC Sense 4.0 on top. This means you don't have to wait for an update to get Android 4.0. Additionally, this handset will come with Beats Audio tech to offer great audio functionality for bass lovers. The Primo will be just 9mm thick and sports a dual-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1GHz and 512MB of RAM, which could be a slightly disappointing. Other specs include a 3.7-inch Gorilla glass display and a 5MP camera capable of capturing 720p HD video. Pleasingly, the dual-shutter on the camera allows users to snap photos while taking video at the same time as well as the f/2.0 aperture of the phone should help you take decent pictures in less than optimal lighting conditions.

This time HTC has made a phone without the capacitive buttons; don’t be too happy because HTC has added the Beats logo at the place instead of using that space to make the screen a bit bigger. Chances are that HTC Primo will come up with something better as the phone you are looking above is only a mockup created by Stuff.tv and not the real one. The HTC Primo is said to be launched with the HTC Ville and HTC Edge, both running on ICS but come with capacitive buttons. It is expected that all three devices and other multiple quad-core LTE phones that the company was earlier rumored to release will be announced during the Mobile World Congress 2012 (27 February - 1 March).
