The mobile advertising space has been the subject of much hyperbole, excitement, and promise over the last few years. One of the shining stars in the space is mobile advertising service AdMob. The current stats for global impressions served from the company's advertising engine are proudly displayed on the front Web site page. As of April 8, 2010, that number is 182,900,095,949. It's no wonder Google wants in on the action. Last year, Google made an agreement to buy AdMob for $750 million. Google already owns a healthy piece of the Internet advertising pie. This acquisition would cement the company's reputation in the hot, hot mobile advertising genre. The Federal Trade Commission has been looking at the deal up, down, and sideways, and it doesn't like what it's seeing. |
