Ultrabook market is booming rapidly!! This year maybe the year of the Ultrabook like the last was the year of tablets. Now, Dell is jumping into the Ultrabook business. Dell has announced its new 'XPS 13 Ultrabook' which is thin and high performance laptop, at Consumer Electronics Show 2012. The XPS 13 Ultrabook measures just 18mm at the thickest point and weighing only at 1.4kg. It has bonded edge-to-edge gorilla glass in front of its screen which gives extra durability to the Ultrabook as well as provides a 720p HD resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The XPS 13 features 13.3 inch screen in a razor thin 12-inch form factor, 1.3MP web cam with dual microphones, and 128 or 256GB SSD drives. The XPS 13 is one of the first ultrabooks which provides Intel's Smart Connect Technology. With Smart Connect Technology, the XPS 13 will wake periodically to detect a wireless network and update your calendar, email, and other information. So, you will always have the most current information. It also features Intel Rapid Start Technology and an all flash design which provides fast startup and near-instant resume from sleep. The Ultrabook will be available with a choice of Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 dual core processors and also come with Intel HD 3000 graphics, 4GB DDR3 RAM. The XPS 13 comes with 47Wh battery that provides a battery life of up to eight hours. The connection option includes USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, Bluetooth and HDMI. The Ultrabook has backlit keyboard and buttonless glass touchpad with gesture support. It also offers pleasant design features like an aluminum frame, frameless design and a carbon fiber base. It will be available in the mid march 2012. It is expected that the pricing of the Ultrabook starts at $999. Customers can make pre-order on dell.com from today onwards. |
