Many companies delivered several new handsets at the IFA 2012 but LG kept quiet, just announced the LG Optimus L9. And now, the new image of an AT&T-bound handset, LG Escape, has been leaked. Folks at DroidDog got their hands on image of the handset that they would like to describe as “press shots”. It’s not sure how truthful the picture is, but it does appear legitimate. Even though the device is yet to be announced either by AT&T or LG at present, LG Escape (originally called the LG P870) is said to be coming to AT&T’s 4G LTE network. This mid-range smartphone will launch with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board and it will feature a bit more conservative specs than the present LG flagship that is offered for AT&T's 4G LTE network in the form of the LG Nitro. The Escape is rumored to sport a 4-inch qHD display, with a resolution of 960 x 540. It is also said to have a 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor under the hood, 1GB of RAM, NFC support, as well as 4G LTE-connectivity. There will be 5-megapixel camera on the back, but no details about the front-facing camera at this point. This kind of leaks doesn't do much for those seeking for hard facts; however they do fine in estimating where the range of smartphones will be for any specific carrier in the upcoming months. It still won't stand a fight against the best smartphones like Galaxy S III, but it may at least hold its ground with its processor and latest Android operating system. The screen is suitable more for those who are finding smaller and more compact sizes. It’s not as slim as the Optimus L9, while it certainly appears like a classy device. It has 3 standard physical buttons and a fine texture on its back. The edges are rounded and bezel is quite thin. Overall, the design is eye-catching. Currently, there is no official announcement about the potential release date or cost of the device. |
