Asus, the Taiwanese hardware and electronics manufacturer is all set to introduce its new PadFone 2, the successor of PadFone. As per the reports, the company has mailed out invites to the press members for the unveiling event of the Padfone 2, which will take place on October 16th at Milan, Taiwan, Italy and Taipei. Currently, more details regarding the device are unavailable, but it is assumed that the second generation Padfone 2 will get the similar form factor like the PadFone with few modifications.
As per the leaked specifications, it is anticipated that Asus Padfone 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm 8064 quad-core 1.5 GHz processor along with 2 GB of RAM. The device is expected to sport 4.7 inch Super IPS+ HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It might feature a powerful battery of 2140mAh. Padfone 2 will measure a dimension of 137.9 x 68.9 x 9 mm and weigh around 135 g. The device might feature a 13 megapixel rear facing camera along with LED flash, HD video recording and auto-focus. On the front, the device is expected to have 1.2 megapixel front facing camera.
Connectivity features of the device will include Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, MicroUSB 2.0 with MHL support, Bluetooth 4.0, LTE, DC-HSPA+: WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100, Class 10 and EDGE/GPRS/GSM E 850/900/1800/1900. Looking at the specs of the device, Padfone 2 sounds more like the LG Optimus G. The all new Padfone 2 is expected to come with a tablet frame for docking.
