Around a month ago, an Acer smartphone called the Liquid Gallant Duo was listed for pre-order at Expansys. However, it was removed soon after that. And now it is the time for its sibling called the Acer Liquid Gallant Solo. This handset was spotted at Acer's official website on August 16, 2012. However, it was also quickly taken back and the details of the smartphone have been already spread over the internet. As the name suggests, it is a single SIM device.
The Gallant Solo has nearly similar specs as in the dual SIM variant. The Gallant Solo is powered by a single-core 1GHz MediaTek MT6575 processor along with 1 GB RAM. It sports a 4.3 inch qHD TFT display. The device has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and 1,500mAh Lithium-polymer battery. Internal storage of 4GB is given along with a microSD expansion slot. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and sports a USB port along with Bluetooth 3.0 (with EDR and A2DP), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, WLAN and Wi-Fi Direct support.
As far as connectivity is concerned, quadband GSM and 3G support on 2100 / 900MHz networks may be expected. It weighs around 145 grams and measures 129 x 65.9 x 9.9 mm. Any information regarding the pricing and availability of the device are not available at the moment. It is assumed that the company may unveil the device at the upcoming IFA trade fair. The Gallant Duo was priced £149 (around $230) at Expansys, so being less capable (single SIM), this device may carry a price tag of around $200.
