Mercedes Benz A45 AMG: Specs detailed

After the wait of big time span, Mercedes-Benz has finally presented its third-generation of highly popular AMG version called A45 AMG. Previously, it was decided to name as A25 AMG. The A45 AMG will knock the doors of the market next year along with its competitors entitled as BMW M135i and Audi RS3. The engine of the care is manufactured by the AMG engineers in Brixworth of England. A45 AMG is developed with two other models by in-house tuner AMG of Mercedes. These two cars include the AMG models of CLA four-door coupe of US and a planned CLA Shooting Brake. Mercedes Benz is hitting the first and foremost model of AMG division with four-cylinder-powered car.

A45 AMG is the affordable model from Mercedes-Benz with lesser ride height and essential body kit. The four-cylinder turbocharged engine with capacity of 2 liters is presented in A45 AMG to endorse the high-quality drive. The engine delivers 330bhp power and torque of above 295lb-ft. Along with the seven-speed dual clutch gearbox, there is Haldex-style multi-plate clutch which is tuned with it. The engine is based on the previous version of the engine that is founded in A250 model and holds the unique cylinder induction and head system.

The technical features like automatic stop and start function and brake energy retrieval are presented in the car. In comparison with A250, A45 AMG is supposed to hold exclusive chassis set-up. A45 AMG uses MacPherson strut along with broad tracks, rigid springs, larger diameter, anti roll bars, new bushes, dampers and lesser ride height. The performance of four-cylinder engine for per liter of fuel will definitely stand out compared to its other rivals. The engine distributes equal power to all the four wheels. The sporty drive is supported by sports suspension, high-performance brakes and three-stage stability control system.

A45 AMG is claimed to reach the 0-100km/h acceleration time in less than 5 seconds so as to compete with its rival BMW M135i which is claimed to reach same ratio of time in 4.9 sec with its 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo engine. The speed of the car is limited to its highest peak value of 155 mph which can be raised further. The head of development at AMG commented that the company always aimed to match the result of the bigger turbocharged 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine built in Audi RS3. A45 AMG is claimed to be the cost-effective car in the rivalry of hot hatch cars based on the fuel saving features of it.

The usual electro-mechanical steering system is modified to add meatier experience and on-centre sensitivity in performance. The brakes have been redesigned with bigger vented and cross drilled discs and most significantly powerful calipers. The expected exterior features of A45 are wider front fenders, carbon fiber effect mirror housings, AMG grille, wider doors sills, a roof spoiler, recreated front bumper and latest rear bumper integrated with diffuser element and distinguishing chromed tail pipes. The prize of Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is assumed to cross around 40,000 Euros with the launch in the market around early 2013.
