Hyundai Eon, an entry level compact car has been launched on Thursday, 13 October 2011 in India by Korean auto major Hyundai Motor Co. Hyundai Company has built this car by keeping in mind different Indian circumstances and special necessities of the Indian consumers. This car has been planned and developed for Indian market. Starting price for this car is between Rs 2.69 lakh and Rs 3.71 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Hyundai Eon will compete with India's bestselling model, Maruti Suzuki Alto. Hyundai Eon runs on 814 cc petrol engine that generates 55 bhp and gives on-road mileage of 21.1 kmpl. As per HMIL Senior Director marketing and sales, Arvind Saxena, up to 1,50,000 units of the Eon has been intended to manufacture on a 12-month basis by the company. Rs. 900 crore has been invested on the expansion and manufacture amenities for the Eon by HMIL. At present, this car has been focused for the Indian market but in future, it may export in South America and South Africa. Hyundai Eon comes in 6 variants, D-Lite, D-Lite (O), Era, Magna, Magna (O) and Sportz. This car is available in 5 colors such as white, black, silver, red, and grey. Music system, central locking, driver airbag, AC, power steering and power windows will be featured in its top-end variant. Hyundai's new fluidic technology is used in its exterior design. This car looks great with fog lamps, body colored door handles, front grille with chrome finish, taller tail lamps and wheel covers. |
