Symptoms and Treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a medical condition when those parts of the brain, which control thought, memory and language, are affected. More than eighteen million people all over the world have been afflicted with Alzheimer’s. Dementia is a disease of the nervous system where the person loses the capacity to perform certain normal mental activities. People having dementia will experience a loss in memory, their language skills as well as reasoning skills will get reduced and they are likely to experience behavioral problems as well as emotional problems. People who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease are normally not expected to live beyond eight years of the diagnosis. But there are some people who have managed to live for twenty years in spite of being afflicted with the disease.
