Hay fever is otherwise known as allergic rhinitis. This is an allergic reaction or the method in which the immune system of the body responds to the presence of a foreign particle in the body. Normally the person would be allergic to some materials, which are present in the air like pollen and molds. They enter the body through the mouth, nose, throat and the lungs. When these substances come into contact with the body, the white blood cells of the body will produce antibodies in order to counter the substance. This is called a hypersensitivity reaction. Immunoglobulin is one of the most well known antibodies and this is found in special cells, which are known as mast cells.
