Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) Disease

The fill form of SMA is Spinal muscular atrophy. It's incurable, untreatable, fatal, and underfunded disease specially happen to children under age of 2 year.

SMA, SMA disease, SMA virus

The disease causes weakness and wasting of voluntary muscles. This lack is often more severe in the legs and arms.

Fight SMA was founded in Richmond, Virginia in 1991 by Joe and Martha Slay, whose son Andrew was diagnosed with the disease. A 2008 graduate of the University of Virginia, Andrew continues to combat the effects of the disease.

Types of SMA :

1. SMA type I

2. SMA type II

3. SMA type III

4. Kennedy syndrome

5. Congenital SMA with Arthrogryposis

6. Adult SMA
