3 more new persons tested positive for the H1N1 flu on Sunday, bringing the total number of cases reported in the city to 101. Of these, 71 were students from various schools.
On Sunday August 2, a student from a school on Sinhagad road and one from a Panchgani school tested positive. The third case was a 26-year-old professional from the city who had now returned from Germany. All three have been quarantined at the Naidu hospital here.
Pradip Awate, head of the swine flu (H1N1) control room in Mumbai, said 64 positive patients have been discharged so far. "Presently, we have 21 patients at Naidu hospital. All of them are recovering," said R R Pardeshi, assistant health officer of the PMC.
"The state has registered 147 positive cases of swine H1N1 flu of which 101 are from Pune, 24 from Panchgani and 22 from Mumbai.
