India decided to urgently donate medicines worth one million US dollars to Ukraine as humanitarian medical assistance following the outbreak of influenza A (H1N1) epidemic there.
Ministry of External Affairs in a statement said the decision was taken "in response to the appeal of the Ukraine for humanitarian medical assistance following the outbreak of influenza A (H1N1) epidemic in certain western regions of that country, and taking into account the close and friendly relations between the two countries."
As soon as the details of the requirements of specific medicines are finalised, arrangements would be made to rush the supplies, it said.
