According to the scientists, potassium formed by the banana in the body prevents the clotting of blood in brain. It reduces the risk of stroke up to 21 %. As said by the scientists from England and Italy, people who consume milk, fish, spinach, lentils and nuts for getting enough potassium have also very less chances of getting stroke.

The earlier researches have also found that bananas help to control blood pressure and protect us from the stroke. In the study published in the American college of Cardiology Journal, people having age less than 60 are selected for the research. In a research, 1600mg potassium was found among individuals who are not consuming banana or any other potassium supplier food; while an individual requires 3500 mg of potassium daily. In people, who have consumed bananas, 5000 mg potassium was found that is sufficient to prevent stroke.
