The mixture then has to be strained through a clean strainer and left to cool for few hours. One gl of this mixture should be taken after every two hours for 6 weeks at a stretch. It is better to prepare it every day as it may lose its medicinal properties after one day.

Lettuce

American Diabetic ociation has confirmed that foods with lower cholesterol content help the diabetics to prevent from cardiovascular diseases. Lettuce is not only low in its cholesterol content but also contains only 3 % of carbohydrates. This combination makes the lettuce ideal to reduce blood sugar level.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are another great fruit that can be taken by those diabetics who want to lose their weight. They are also not only low in carbohydrates but also help to control the glucose level in the urine.

Soya Bean

The nutritious Soya beans not only puts check on the blood sugar level it also regulates the elevated glucose levels in the urine of the diabetics. Soya beans are rich in proteins and low in carbohydrates.

Onion

Onions, no matter raw or cooked, are also good for diabetics. It reduces the bloods sugar levels in the blood. It has been discovered that onion contains an antidiabetic compound. This compound is much similar to the compounds (propyl, allyl, allicin and disulphide) that are used today for the synthesis of insulin.
