Causes and Treatment for Amnesia

Amnesia is a state of mind where the person loses his or her memory capacity for a time period which lies anywhere between two hours to a few days or even months. There are many reasons for the occurrence of this loss of memory. It can be due to some kind of psychological experience, which was very disturbing, and this could also be due to some kind of severe head injury. There are two main types of Amnesia namely

• Organic Amnesia – This is memory loss, which is triggered by some kind of damage to the brain due to some head injury, trauma or disease.
• Functional amnesia – This is memory loss, which is triggered by psychological factors like some kind of disturbing experience.
