Earache is a condition which affects both young and old alike. The pain is because an inflamed ear or an infection in the ear. This condition is medically known as otitis.

Causes of earache

Earaches are born out of ear infections or inflammations caused by viruses, bacteria, and fungi. The Eustachian tube faces a lot of pressure, due to infection, as a result of which ear starts paining. Other causes for earache include tonsillitis and sinus conditions, more so in a majority of children.

Home Remedies for Earache

• A very common herbal remedy is to extract juice from basil leaves by grinding them, and use them as ear drops.
• Garlic cloves boiled in water can be crushed, and some salt can be added. Use this as poultice and place it on aching ear.
