American Multinational conglomerate corporation, General Electric (GE) has engineered power plant to deliver an unparalleled combination of flexibility and efficiency. GE’s new technology will enable further use of natural gas, solar and Wind Energy on Power Grid. GE launched this new technology on 25th May, 2011. It is the first product of GE’s New FlexEfficiency portfolio that called as “The FlexEfficiency 50 Power Plant”. It is rated at 510 megawatts. It will offer greater than 61 Percent fuel efficiency and unique operating flexibility. GE spent more than $500 million to build this power plant. It is a main part of its current work to produce and manufacturer technologies all over the world that send cleaner, more efficient energy. To build this plant, GE drew from the company’s jet engine expertise. GE’s new plants will rise up at rate of greater than 50 megawatts per minute that is double compare to today’s industry benchmark. Operational flexibility of new plants balances the grid cost-effectively as per their needs and helps to use extra renewable power resources like wind and solar. |
