Frog Skin could be used for Cancer Treatment

Frog is small animal with protruding eyes and without tail. Until now, it has been rarely used as a drug to treat any disease. But now onwards it will become the medicine of many major ailments. Frog skin can be used for cancer treatment and more than 70 other diseases, as per new research held by scientists.

Water porous skin of frog permits water in and out. Sometimes frogs use their skin to take in water instead of mouth. Credit to find frog skin as a treatment of cancer and other diseases is given to Scientists of Queens University Belfast as they have won award on frog skin as a medication of various illnesses.

Scientists have discovered two kinds of protein which can be utilized to regulate growth of blood vessel in the body. These proteins can be obtained from the waxy monkey frog and giant fire-bellied toad.

Some frog skin toxins are being researched as potential pain medications.

Growth of most cancer tumors can only occur up to certain size; after that they require blood vessels for further growth. To prevent the spreading of cancer tumors, there is need to stop blood vessels from growing.    

Protein on the skin of waxy monkey frog helps to slow down the growth of blood vessels therefore it is used as a treatment of cancer. Protein produced by the giant fire bellied toad has ability to stimulate blood vessel growth and aids the patients to get well speedily from operations and injuries.

A process of blood vessels growth is known as angiogenesis which has been targeted to find new medicine from natural world for last four decades, as per Professor Shaw. Because approximately $4-5bn money has been invested yet there was a need to develop a medicine which gives effectively result on blood vessels process according to professor, scientists and drugs companies.

During the study, scientists have found snuggle in secretions on both frogs’ skin. When the secretions extracted, they became uninjured frogs back into the wild.

Professor Shaw has expressed that natural world have many solution of medical problems we just need an ability to put the question in right pose. Nature is the best option to treat the cancer if we have power to make it work.
