A new B-segment concept version ‘B-Max' is planned by Ford of Europe to unveil soon. This all-new B-segment compact minivan (known as B-Max) will reinstate the existing generation of the European market Fusion, based on the earlier Fiesta at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011 and the production version in early 2012 will be on sale.

Ford Minivan 'B-Max' will be a five-seat with rear sliding doors based on Ford's global B-architecture that debuted with the Fiesta subcompact model in 2008 and it will be the minimum offering in Ford's European range of minivans, which consist of the medium C-Max and big S-Max and the big Galaxy. At Ford's plant in Craiova, Romania, the model will go into production late next year with assumption of 150,000 units a year (80 percent of which will be exported), outlying superior than the Fusion's best sales year of 82,000 units in 2007.

The new B-Max will compete in the small MPV segment such as the Opel / Vauxhall Meriva, Citroen C3 Picasso and Kia Venga Kia. At present, Meriva controls the segment as best-selling minivan for over 6 years in Europe. As per the data from market researcher JATO Dynamics, in 2007 Ford Fusion sales pointed at 82,696 units, when it was No. 2 to the Meriva at 132,715 units. Until now, there have been no official words by Ford regarding the sales of this small minivan in United States.
