WikiPad - World's first 2D + 3D tablet without Glasses

The New Year 2012 will surely be the year of glasses free 3D as another glasses free 3D announcement occurred at CES International 2012. Among so many tablets offered at CES, WikiPad is one that released with 2D and 3D functions without glasses. WikiPad is taking on glasses free 3D and doubles up a handheld game console as it comes equipped with attachable video game controller. The WikiPad tablet is an 8 inches 1080p touch screen tablet computer that lets user to watch both 2D and 3D video playback of well-known video formats. World's first 2D + 3D tablet is built specially for gamers. Nintendo 3DS has proved that you don’t require to have glasses for viewing content in 3D.

WikiPad runs on Android 4.0 operating system i.e. known as Ice Cream Sandwich. It comes loaded with mini HDMI, USB 2.0, 8 GB of flash storage, micro SD card slot that expandable up to 64 GB and 1080p 2D and 3D playback without the need for 3D glasses. It supports video formats such as H.264, VOB, VC1, ISO, M2TS and FLV. WikiPad tablet is not the 1st tablet with glasses free 3D; however it’s certainly among those first tablets that comes attached game controller for raising the user’s gaming experience. Until the video game controller is attached, it looks like a regular tablet computer. The game controller features thumbpads and colored select buttons.

For user generated 3D content, there are no twin cameras unlike the 3DS. But it has a single front and rear camera for video chat, video recording and image taking. Mini HDMI and USB 2.0 connections let the tablet to be attached to AV equipment and other computers. The processing power and the eventual price details are not revealed yet. The WikiPad is anticipated to launch during this Spring.
