A new camera is speculated to enter the market sooner or later. Rumors about this upcoming Panasonic camera, which called the Panasonic GH3, have been spreaded over the internet. If the rumors are true, there will be considerable improvements in the codec, dynamic range and auto focus, along with the some new features. As per the rumors, the high bit rate and intraframe codec of the new camera could produce a higher quality image as compared to an unmodified GH2 (24 mbps interframe codec) or an AF-100 (24 mbps interframe codec or 28 mbps interframe along with the firmware update.
It is not known whether it will have 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 color sampling and whether the bit depth will be 8 bit or 10 bit. The extended ISO range along with the increased dynamic range of the shadows would improve low light shooting and preserve shadow detail as well. Other features include focus peaking and fast auto focus. It will have an ISO range between 100 and 12,800.
It may come with 16 megapixel sensor and 12-35mm X kit lens. Users will be able to control the device via iPhone, iPad or Android device. It may come with an external vertical battery grip and may not have a global shutter. The snapper may have Cloud/back-up storage by means of the Lumix Club. Any confirmed or official details regarding the snapper are not available at the moment.
