On Wednesday, June 13, 2012, Sony India launched two new laptops in the Indian markets. The new comers to the Indian stores are Sony Vaio T ultrabook and Sony Vaio E14A. The company will launch the other models in the Sony Vaio E, S and Z series very soon. Sony is aiming to sell 6.5 lakh Vaio units by FYE 2012. In this financial year Sony will reportedly allocate Rs. 90 crore towards Vaio marketing, and it will offer free on-site service for all Vaio models from this July. The entire Sony Vaio product line-up will be available across Vaio flagship stores, Sony Centers and major electronic and IT stores. The Sony Vaio T is the first Ultrabook by Sony. It is equipped with Ethernet, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, VGA and HDMI ports. It will be available in 11.6 and 13.3 inch screen sizes. The 11.6 inch variant is powered by an Intel® Core™ i5-3317U Processor 1.70 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.60 GHz whereas the 13.3 inch variant has an Intel®Core™ i3-2367M Processor 1.40 GHz. Both runs on Windows 7 platform and offer a longer battery life and data security. Bluetooth 4.0 and Wifi IEEE 802.11b/g/n are supported by both the devices. These laptops include a hybrid drive combining the capacity of HDD with the performance of SSD. The Vaio T ultrabooks have a silver colored body and their pricing starts from Rs 45,990 only. The Sony Vaio E14A series has a stylish new 'wrap design' with color accent around the edge, touchpad and keyboard. It will be equipped with a personalization kit comprised of matching color, keyboard skin and mouse. E Series laptops offer a long battery life and a high quality sound produced by Sony’s "xLOUD" and "Clear Phase" technology. These devices are powered by an Intel® Core™ i5-2450M Processor 2.50 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.10 GHz and run Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit platform. These laptops are available in two variants; one has been priced Rs 55,990 while the other will be sold for Rs 65,990. |
