Samsung has officially launched its first ever Series 3 Chromebox and second generation Series 5 Chromebook laptop. Both new products featuring the latest Google Chrome Operating System ensures enhanced computing experience. The Series 3 Chromebox is the world’s first desktop to have Google’s OS. On other hand, the Chromebook is packed with thousands of new web apps delivering much superior performance compared to the first-generation Chromebooks. The Chromebox comes with a price tag of $330. The Chromebook is available in two variants; one is Wi-Fi only model for $450 and other is Wi-Fi + 3G model for $550.
At present, both the Chrome devices are available for online purchase only for selected countries like US, UK, Italy, Germany, France, South Korea, Netherlands and Spain from the Google’s official page. Both Chromebox and Chromebook have 4GB of RAM and offer 16GB solid state disk for storage. Plus, both feature Intel HD 3000 graphics. The Chromebox is powered by a 1.9GHz Intel Celeron B840 dual-core processor. Users can connect the device with a 30-inch display, mouse, a Bluetooth keyboard, and even an HDTV via DisplayPort. Plus, the Chromebox comes with six USB 2.0 ports for connections like Wi-Fi and Ethernet.
The second generation Chromebook has a 12.1-inch SuperBright LCD screen with 1280 x 800 pixels of resolution. It is powered by a 1.3GHz Intel Celeron 847 dual-core processor. It also supports WiFi connectivity, Ethernet and offers an optional 3G chip. Other features include 2 USB 2.0 ports, 4-in-1 memory card slot, 1MP HD webcam, Gigabit Ethernet, flash card reader, DisplayPort, etc. Plus, the device offers up to 6 hours of battery life on a single charge.
