Samsung Flexible AMOLED display technology unveiled

Innovations are the rule of nature!!! While talking about innovations, every firms and companies want to become first nowadays in the race. And in this race, the Korean manufacturer Samsung is not behind to the other ones. Samsung has recently introduced its completely innovative device, a transparent tablet-Smartphone hybrid, which can be extended for different purposes or rolled up like a newspaper. Samsung has provided a quick look of this up-coming technology with a concept video which highlights this flexible display.

Samsung demonstrated only 0.3mm thick flexible screen. This transparent device will be intended with a very flexible, AMOLED touch screen and it will be used for reading news, capturing images, playing 3D games, viewing videos, and even as interpreter for translating speech from one language to another, as shown in the video. This device will be also used for video calling and the screen will be also capable to throw holographic 3D image. This AMOLED screen could be completely folded without cracking.

At the moment, this device is just a concept and this technology shown in the video of Samsung will take few years to come in the market. But undoubtedly, some features will come in the market in a short time. Samsung had introduced a mobile device having a flexible display earlier this year at the CES 2011 and this device is expected for the production in 2012.
