Toshiba, the Japanese multinational electronics and IT company, is planning to enter the Japanese market with its new DVD player. The Regza SD-P100WP is an entry level DVD player with a 10.1 inch display and 1024 x 600 pixel screen resolution. The device sports an acrylic panel that protects the high definition LCD screen and offers clear image reproduction. The device has a built-in TV tuner along with wireless LAN enabling the users to watch the recorded content on network-connected Toshiba TV sets and Blu-Ray players. The Regza SD-P100WP is equipped with IPX7-level waterproofing so that the users can use the device anywhere, even on a beach. It can stay under 1m of water for around 30 meters without any fear of water. The SD-P100WP also has an SD slot for viewing photos, playing music and around eight hours of DVD watching on a single charge. The Regza SD-P100WP is DLNA compatible and it supports WMA and MP3 files. This new portable TV cum DVD player has been priced around 50,000 Yen in Japan. It has been packed with an internal battery that allows around 7 hours of continuous play. Any other details regarding other features and specifications of the device have not been revealed yet. It may hit the Japanese stores on September 14. |
