These days, smartphones and tablets have turn out to be very popular but nearly all the games that are played on them are of the casual variety. Razer, professional gaming hardware manufacturer has announced their latest gaming concept design at CES 2012. The name of this PC gaming tablet is Project Fiona. It is the world’s first tablet designed particularly for PC gaming. At CES 2011, the company showed the Switchblade prototype and drew the attention of gamers. It is the company’s 2nd fling in the PC gaming space and the first foray into the tablet market. It will be available in the forth quarter of 2012 with a price tag of around $1,000.

 Specs of PC gaming tablet

Usually, tablets are made for general use and casual gaming but Project Fiona is designed to play today’s most famous PC games with an intuitive control system. The fusion of gaming hardware (based on Intel) and a new tablet design, Razer Fiona incorporates features of a tablet & PC into a portable and solitary gaming platform. Project Fiona has excellent specifications and a polished design. It comes with 3rd generation Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge CPU which makes it a quite powerful little machine.

The PC gaming tablet looks as if an iPad that has 2 PlayStation Move/Wii Nunchuk analogs on the sides. It runs on Windows 8 and has integrated modular gaming controllers (with analog sticks having 4 buttons on both sides) which can be detached from the tablet. It features 10.1" display with 1200×800 P resolutions along with full-screen UI. These analog sticks give speedy and accurate movements while cutting a path through the alien horde. It will also feature THX speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, support multitouch, gyroscope, an accelerometer, solid-state drive (SSD) and Dolby 7.1 surround sound.

It includes the battery life of a laptop not a tablet. Razer Fiona has force feedback support along with vibration motors as well as front and back cameras. On this device, you can play popular PC games such as World of Warcraft, H.A.W.X. 2, Modern Warfare 3, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Firefall or any "hardcore" PC game with same control and visual experience like a full-sized computer or console.

The company will provide its own game launcher but players can load up their Steam library, download games as well as go to town. Full specifications of the device have been not revealed by the company as the project is still in concept. The new UI is going to be loved by players and developers, as it is a mixture of the most excellent gamepad, accelerometers and multi-touch screen.
