Pentax announced a new digital interchangeable-lens camera named Pentax Q10. This new model looks quite similar to the popular PENTAX Q, which was launched last year. According to the company, the all new Pentax Q10 will deliver high quality images and better AF performance due to the CMOS imaging sensor and an enhanced AF algorithm. In terms of design, the device will have a unique grip to hold the camera firmly. Q10 will be available at all the retail and online stores throughout the world from October 2012. It will be offered along with the 02 zoom lens in white, black and red colors at an approximate price tag of $599.95. The users will be able to utilize the sensitivity range from ISO 100 to ISO 6400 for clear and sharp images. The camera will feature a built-in HDR (High Dynamic Range) function that produces a photo from multiple images into a finely detailed image, which is free from whitewashed highlights and blacked out shadows. With the improved new AF algorithm and noise performance of the imaging sensor, the device will be able to autofocus faster even in dim lights. The camera will offer 21 user-selectable scene modes along with Auto Picture mode, which automatically selects the perfect shooting mode. PENTAX Q10 will feature a Full HD video recording function by making use of the H.264 recording format, which will allow the users to take high quality extended movie clips at 30 frames per second with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device will offer enhanced image processing tools such as the Smart Effect modes and other in-body movie editing tools for movie shooting. Q10 will sport a unique feature called the Bokeh control function, which automatically creates an unclear or blurred impression to areas where the camera cannot focus. The device will get the Dust Removal II (DRII) mechanism that will help in preventing the dust spots from spoiling the captured images. It will have a long battery life with the integration of the power-efficient components. There will be remote control receptors on both the front and back panels respectively. Other features of the camera include choice of image size (4:3, 3:2, 16:9 or 1:1), wide-view 3.0-inch color LCD monitor with approximate 460,000 dots, TTL image-sensor metering and data storage medium like SDHC, SD and SDXC memory cards.
