Motorola unveils Droid Xyboard 8.2 and Droid Xyboard 10.1

Motorola Mobility & Verizon Wireless had recently introduced two newest devices to hit the tablet market. These new devices will come in 8.2 inch and 10.1 inch versions. These devices are pronounced as XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition at Motorola and as DROID XYBOARD tablets at Verizon. Basically US versions of these tablets are called as Droid Xyboard tablets. These tablets will hit the market later this month and Verizon will offer each device with LTE mobile broadband.

As the name suggests, the tablets will come with 8.2 inch and 10.1 inch displays. Both devices possess the scratch resistant high-def IPS displays of Corning Gorilla Glass and contain a water-repellant coating to defy accidental spills. While talking about other features, both devices feature 1GB of RAM, 16GB or more of storage and dual core 1.2 GHz processors.  Both will run on Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS and the OS will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich up to next year. Both the device will be able for 4G LTE network connectivity through high-speed data network of Verizon and they both will enable a mobile hotspot feature for sharing of your data by connecting with up to eight Wi-Fi capable devices. Both will feature a 5 MP rear camera with autofocus, digital zoom, and LED flash, as well as 1.3 MP front facing camera. 

Both versions comprise business apps such as Citrix GoToMeeting, Google Talk for video conferencing, and Quickoffice HD. Both have support for Google Mobile Services including YouTube, Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps Google Talk, and also access to plenty of books from Google Books. Both tablets include Dijit app which enables device as a universal remote control with an electronic programming guide for digital video records (DVR), Blu-ray Disc players, TVs, and most other user electronics. These both Droid Xyboards are thinner than an AAA battery as well as lighter than a paperback book, according to Motorola. The 8.2 inch Droid Xyboard will hit the market at the price tag of $529.99 for 32 GB model and $429.99 for 16 GB model. The price tags for 10.1 inch Droid Xyboard are $729.99 for 64 GB, $629.99 for the 32 GB, and $529.99 for 16 GB when acquired with a 2-year contract.
