MIPS Technologies along with Ingenic Semiconductor have released a NOVO7 which runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It is the first tablet in the world that runs on Android 4.0. The tablet is one of the cheapest tabs as the price is only $99 (including shipping and handling). Recently, it is available in Chinese market and online at ainovo.com & Ainol.com. Novo7 will be also available in US and other countries next year. Currently, Novo 7 tablet comes with 7-inch capacitive touchscreen but in future it will be available in 8-inch and 9-inch screens. It features Wi-Fi, 4GB in memory, microSD card slot, 3D graphics with the Vivante GC860 GPU, Bluetooth, 1080p video playback, 1GHz single-core MIPS processor, USB port and HDMI port to connect tab to HDTVs. There are 2 cameras: 2MP rear camera and VGA front-facing camera. It has 300 hours standby battery which lasts 25 hours when listening music, 8 hours while watching video, 7 hours when browsing the Web and 6 hours when playing video games. This tab can run Google apps like Gmail, Google Talk Google Maps and Google Music as it has got Google certification. In China, Google doesn't offer official Android market access so the tab lacks that feature. However we expect official Android market access will be possible in other countries. Users are able to download apps from third-party. |
