Kobian, a computer peripherals maker has launched its new tablet Mercury mTab Rio. It features a 9.7 inch display with IPS technology. The IPS technology offers a consistent and accurate color from all viewing angles. This tablet is suited for office workers and students. The students may surf through the internet and access to unlimited knowledge and fun. The office goers will be able to do their work anywhere. mTab flaunts a 9.7 inches Capacitive touchscreen display with multitouch facility and IPS technology. The screen resolution is 2048 x 1536 pixels.
It runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform. It features a 1.2 GHz processor with 1GB DDR3 RAM. It has two options for the internal memory - 8GB and 16GB. The external memory may be extended upto 32GB via MicroSD memory card. Battery backup has been announced as 6 to 8 hours. The tab features a front facing 2 mega pixel camera. Through a USB port present in this tablet 3G can be accessed via a USB dongle. A Mini HDMI port is available and Wi-Fi 802.11b,/g is supported. Any SIM card slot is not given. It also supports Adobe Flash 11.
The tab weights just 480 grams. It comes with pre-installed Google apps like Google Maps, Drive, Navigation, Google Plus, Google Mail, Google Talk, Google Play Store and Picasa Web Album. Thousands of free and paid Android applications may be browsed and downloaded through Google Play Store. The device will come with a 1 year of limited warranty. It will be soon available at retail stores across India with a price tag of Rs 11,999.
